Tuition Information

$60/month

Payments are set up through an auto-pay system.

Payments are withdrawn on the 15th of the month for the following month.

Registering for Classes:

Registration is always open.  We are now doing continuous, open enrollment.  This means a student stays in a class until they move to another or withdraw.  Registration must be accompanied by payment in full for the first month and enrollment in auto-pay, in order to hold the spot.  Please note that the same day, time, and instructor may not be available every month, due to changing schedules and levels.

If a current student fails to pay tuition (i.e. numerous declined credit cards or NSF checks) their spot will be forfeited and new students will be placed in that class.

New students may register at anytime.  Tuition must be paid through the next auto-pay date, at time of registration

Dropping or Changing Classes After a Class Begins:

JOINING:     No problem…tuition will be PRORATED, relative to your start date.

CHANGING: We will gladly accommodate class change requests, as long as a vacancy exists.

DROPPINGNo refunds or credits will be given for dropping a class.  Once a class has commenced, you are registered until you withdraw, regardless of attendance.  See below regarding medical conditions.

MEDICAL:      For medical conditions validated by a physician’s statement, a family credit will be issued for the pro-rated amount based upon the date Stony Creek Swim Center RECEIVES THE WRITTEN STATEMENT (retroactive requests cannot be granted, as it eliminates our opportunity to fill the vacated class spot).

Payment Procedures:

MONTHLY PAYMENT TO A CHECKING ACCOUNT OR CREDIT CARD:  All payments are required to be through our auto pay system.  Charges are posted on the 15th of the month for the next month.  Students are automatically enrolled in the next month.  Cancellation forms must be filled out by the 10th of the month for the next month. Students will keep the same day and time unless the parents request a change.  Requested teachers are not guaranteed.

REGISTER AND PAY:  You may register for a class up to two weeks in advance.  Onsite or phone registrations must be accompanied with Payment in Full.

FORMS OF PAYMENT:  MasterCard, Visa, or Discover are gladly accepted.  Checks will be accepted for the first month of pay only.  Automatic payments can be taken from a checking or savings account.  No cash payments, please.

RETURNED CHECKS:  There will be a $25 processing fee for all returned checks.

CLOSURES:  We are closed for Hamilton County Spring Break (the first full week of April), the week following Memorial Day, and at least one week at Christmas.  We close for 4th of July, Labor Day, Halloween evening, and Thanksgiving.  Monthly fees are based on an average of four lessons per month.  Some months will have five and others will have three.  The $60 remains constant and averages out over the one year period.

SNOW DAYS:  Snow days and delays will be posted on TV and a message will be recorded on our answering machine.  Free make-ups will be scheduled for facility closures.  In the event of a facility closure, we will offer a make-up lesson for the lesson affected by the closure.

   Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:

If you must cancel a month of lessons prior to the start of a month, you must notify the office personnel in writing by the 10th of the month prior to the start of that month or an additional $10 cancellation fee will apply.  We cannot acknowledge messages either left on the answering machine or via e-mail concerning cancellations, because we must have a signature from the person on the account.  Once the month has begun (first day of classes of the month), there will be NO REFUNDS ISSUED.  For refund procedure under other circumstances see “Dropping or Changing Classes After a Session Begins” on the previous page.

Your child has a reserved class time. Make sure you have booked your child in a class that fits your schedule. Please understand that the instructor is there to teach your child, even if you do not come to class.

In the event a class needs to be cancelled due to teacher illness, pool conditions, mechanics, or inclement weather, we will make every effort to contact you prior to your class time.  In order to help us, please make sure to follow the guidelines stated below:

  • Please notify us if your phone numbers change.
  • Credit will not be given for pool closures. In the event of a pool closure, we will offer a make-up lesson for the lessons effected by the closure.
  • When there is severe weather, we may not be able to access phone numbers to notify students of pool closure. We will leave pertinent information on our voice mail message and our website.  Cancellations will also be listed on all major television networks (i.e. channels 8, 13, etc.).

We strive to maintain instructor consistency for our students. There are, however, occasions when instructors may have extended leave of absences, resign, have conflicting school schedules or other personal situations that create the need to replace the instructor. Often these situations are beyond our control. We will do everything possible to make a smooth transition for your child.

General Information, Guidelines, & Parental Advisory

OUR PRIORITIES
 Learning should be fun, repetition is key, consistency is a must (both teacher and attendance), and swimming is not only fun…it’s a necessity!

CLASS START TO FINISH
 Arrive approximately 10 minutes early.
 Please have your child use the restroom prior to class
 Please remove all band-aids and throw away gum.
 Sign your child in on the attendance sheet. Next to their class will be listed a color
 Give your child the color square listed on the attendance sheet to take with him/her when called for class
 All students will be placed in appropriate lanes marked by these color squares. Lane does not necessarily designate level.
 Classes will have no more than two-three minutes of recreation time.
 Please meet your student at the back door after class.
 Stony Creek Swim Center is NOT a drop off program and is NOT equipped to provide before or after class supervision. For the SAFETY of you child, parents are REQUIRED TO STAY ON SITE during all classes.

CURRICULUM
 Our curriculum develops stroke technique and fundamental swimming skills.
 Our Froggy Swim Team focuses on stroke and endurance training.
 There are level appropriate homework ideas in the office. Please help your student(s) practice these.
 Assessment is done by each teacher periodically. A report card and ribbon will be given to each student upon the completion of a level. If you want to request a report card, please fill out a comment card at the office.
 We use the Rollover Method during swim lessons. From two months of age, students are taught to rollover to their back to float, relax, and get a breath. This method is taught exclusively in our small pool and may be used as a review in our big pool. Once the student has mastered the rollover, we shorten this movement to a half of a rollover—which happens to be the proper method of rhythmic breathing. At this time, you will see the instructors using a “1,2,3, breath” method. The students are taught to breathe on the same side on every other pull. During our Competitive Strokes levels, they will be taught to alternate sides to get their breath.

TEACHERS
 We always try to put the “right” teacher with the “right” student.
 Sorry, even though we try to honor teacher requests, there is no guarantee.
 Make sure to communicate with the office as soon as possible if there is a teacher/student conflict.

Parental Advisory:

Relax and watch.  When confronted with fearful situations, children tend to collapse emotionally in the presence of their parents.  As difficult as it is to accept, in stressful situations, children generally fare better when parents are not available as a crutch.  We are experienced in calming distressed children and you can confidently leave your child in our hands and exit to our glassed observation area.  You may need to move entirely out of the line of sight, as even eye contact can trigger an emotional collapse.

No parents on deck.  While you are welcome to escort your child on deck for the first lesson, please give him/her a quick hug and kiss and let them know you’ll be watching them so “have fun and listen to your teacher”.

Please respect our teaching levels.  In our competitive American culture, the impulse to push a child is powerful.  Please resist the seduction of “fast-tracking”.  Don’t get caught up in which level your child is in.  With only four students, our classes can accommodate small differences.  Twenty years of experience with thousands of children has taught us that the potentially negative learning attitudes caused by “pressures to learn” as a child, don’t manifest themselves until later years.  By the time your child is in Jr. High School, he/she will either “love to learn” or will be “anxious about learning’, displaying on “I can’t” attitude or an apathetic “I don’t care” attitude.  So be wise in these early years, especially before 2nd grade, please allow your child to learn in a relaxed atmosphere.

   Sanitation Policy

Fecal contamination in or around a pool poses a serious health risk to all using the facility. When an accident occurs, we are forced to shut down operations for an extended period of time to properly clean and sanitize our facility. We are trying to reduce the spread of disease and inconvenience to swimmers whose lessons are cancelled. For the health and safety of our swimmers and instructors, please follow the following guidelines.

PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES CAREFULLY!

  • Children who are not 100% potty trained must wear a disposable diaper and a reusable swim diapers (i.e. plastic swim diapers) under their swim suits.
  • Our definition of potty trained is: A child who has the capacity to know when they need to use the restroom and will ask to be let out of the pool to go to the bathroom.  If your child is not quite there, please put them in a reusable swim diaper.
  • Parents may not bring a child to swim class if the child is experiencing intestinal distress.
  • If a child has an accident in the pool, they will not be allowed to return that day.  Their swim diaper must be properly disinfected, with bacteria-killing disinfectants.
  • In the event a child has an accident, is potty trained, did not ask to use the restroom, and is not wearing a swim diaper, there will be a $250 fine.
  • Parents are expected to dispose of soiled swim diapers in the proper containers.
  • Parents are expected to assist in cleaning leakage from contaminated areas, i.e. decks, changing tables, showers, toilets, dressing room, etc. The SCSC staff will follow up by cleaning and disinfecting the entire pool area and pool.
  • In the event a child has an accident while wearing a swim diaper under their swim suit, he/she will be required to wear two plastic swim diapers over their suit in the future.
  • If a potty-trained child has an accident and fails to communicate the need to use the restroom, they will be required to wear a swim diaper under their swim suit until suitable communication is established.
  • If a parent has taken all the necessary precautions and an accident occurs, we will not levy the fine.
  • If a student is prone to experiencing a gag reflex, we request that the student not eat two hours prior to participation in swim lessons and that parents exercise caution with liquids before class.
  • If a student vomits in the pool, the student may not return to class that same day.
